An historic day
For a guy whose head was buzzing and emotions were in a swirl, you sure did a GREAT job of capturing the significance and magnitude of this historic moment. Your poignant words re: your father and what many in his generation worked so hard to accomplish, were so fitting. Clear, concise, powerful. And to end with a discussion on what the Obama presidency represents for your children and the future, well, truth be told, I got a little misty. I'm a white, 48 yr old liberal who just 2 years ago would not have thought this day would come during my lifetime. Always hoped for it, mind you... Dr. King's words "the content of his character" always echoing, yet appearing to be an unlikely dream. When the crowd interupted President Clinton's speech, to chant "yes we can," I joined right in with 'em, chanting while listening on my car radio. What an awesome turn of events, and a great day to be an American! Thank you Mr. Owens for getting personal.

To hear Obama's speech tonight! I am sure he will be bringing the house down.
And Al Gore as an opening act? This should be a pretty remarkable night.
