Holy Mother of Jesus...(and I'm athiest.) As a snide / cynical / jaded person I have to say that was the first time in nearly 20 years that I was teeming, riving, busting with patriotism for my country (other than how I feel about the land itself and the good people who live here).

That speech just guaranteed the presidency. I'm shivering just thinking about it and I'm skeptical OF ANY politician - ANYONE. And timing it on MLK's speech date - ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. The whole world was cheering for Obama and the US last night - we were flooded with emails from people we recently met traveling in Ecuador telling us how amazed they were at this speech since we talked so much about politics (everyone laughing at the US because of Bush).

Never in my life have I heard a political speech - in my life I'm saying - that affected me like Obama's acceptance speech. Could you imagine Bush or Cheney giving a speech remotely like this one??? THAT WILL BE THE DAY...

For posterity, I think any slams / comments on McCain could've been omitted, but wow...if you live in the US and that speech didn't move you then you are truly a heartless, soul-less, uneducated, authoritarian, fundamentalist, grave-digger and YOU should move - just pack up and head to China or Russia where that authoritarian BS is revered - because I'm going to have my fucking country back!

My 40-year Air Force / Republican parents WERE BAWLING...they could not believe it....I've never seen anything like that. They recently switched parties just to vote for Obama, my father reluctantly, but this sealed the deal.

Now sit back and watch how negative, sinister, and attack-laden the Rep Nat'l Convention will be - it'll be like the Amityville Horror! What in the world can they possibly say that will top this? All they can do now is attack. I'm going to watch just to see what that might be, but wow...you'd have to walk down out of the clouds to top this one. Rove and his butt-lubing buddies aren't going to just sit quietly on this - they FEARED Obama's nomination more than anything, and their attacks will be clear and obvious, only it will come off like bullies beating up kids after the DNC convention.

I have to admit that was a pretty good speech last night. However, the fear tactics of the Republicans will start next week hot and heavy.

John McCain sent a televised congratulatory video last night. He said in honor of the historic day, he would back off but sent inflammatory e-mails out less than 20 minutes after the speech had ended.

Of course, this is a guy whose time in the senate is a list of one scandal after another.

A man who uses his POW experience as a shield against even the slightest criticism.

A man who jeopardized more than 100 American soldiers using them as human body shields in Baghdad for something as simple as a photo op.

A man who questions Democrats loyalty to Americans suggesting they are traitors.

Anything he does at this point just doesn't surprise me.

I do feel that it was more the place of people working for Obama to go after McCain. Perhaps the contrast of their weakness and Barrack's strength worked out for the better, making Obama appear even more of a leader.

I switched to Fox to what they would say. Fox news is an enemy to the American people. They don’t put out news, they post propaganda. It’s one thing to “present the other side”, but they repeat lies. The announcer repeatedly referred to Obama as Barrack Hussein Obama and never once said, “John Sidney McCain”. Hmmmm. Why do you think that is?

I just have to mention. To show how bad Fox is, they took the pictures of a producer and reporter from another network, yellowed their teeth, put Uncle Fester circles around their eyes, changed their hairlines and then presented the pictures as unphotoshoped. The two men looked like ogres. You can see it on Youtube, the actual pictures and the photoshoped pictures. How they get away with this stuff is a mystery? It seems there ought to be a law.

I heard from my friends that watched the democratic convention(party) that the Clintons did a classy and outstanding job in unifying the party.

That unselfish feat of the Clintons was necessary because in a recent pre-convention Gallup poll 33% of Obama supporters had a negative view of the Clintons while 18% of Hillary’s supporters had a similar response. With those numbers, it is not surprising that the man from Springfield Illinois couldn’t unite the party.

Well, no matter, thanks to the Clintons that Civil War is behind us….we Hope!!!

Well in 2000, the Supreme Court selected for president a republican COWBOY with questionable executive experience and no foreign policy experience and we all are painfully suffering from the mistake of that choice.

Well in 2008, the democrats nominate a Rock Star with no executive experience and slightly improved foreign policy credentials to address the issues of a far more dangerous world.

My next move is to BREAK my very long ASSOCIATION with the democratic party and begin the process of selecting the best THIRD PARTY CANDIDATE!!!

OK….I am going to play nice and stop making fools of those Obamacons.

No….I am NOT…..I repeat…I am NOT helping McSame win the presidency.

Why you say ….. well the process of selecting the President of the United States is NOT like electing a High School Prom Queen.

You see, I live in one of those few primary states that Obama won that will strongly vote democratic in the fall.

Therefore, if Obama can’t win my state this fall, it will not make a difference what third party candidate receives my vote.

If I am WRONG about Obama, who cares because the country and world win!!!!!

If I am right, I avoid the embarrassment of looking like all those fools that so proudly displayed Bush/Cheney bumper stickers on their cars in 2000 and 2004.
