The Washington Post's Marie Arana points out something we've been saying for a while (entre nous): Obama is not black.
Do unprecedented door-buster sales and increased numbers of shoppers mean that Black Friday was not a complete disaster? That is the question. (Wall Street Journal)
While the true hearts of the left observed By Nothing Day on Friday, others went to Walmart. One man actually died where the Lord of the Flies became a grown-up affair...
Alternet pieces together the Mumbai attacks.
Over at Firedoglake, Siun covers the Iraqi vote on SOFA, which would suggest that Iraq wants the occupation to continue. But not. It's confusing. So read about it here.
The Los Angeles Times takes a closer look at Obama's stimulus program, shining a light on the good, the neither good nor bad, and the missing.
The Christian Science Monitor asks the obvious question: Can Hillary and Obama work together effectively?
AIG actually sacrifices something, and on the altar of oil money no less!

Obama should drop Rubin
His ties to Citibank are one reason. The thought of Clinton's people who pushed for deregulation in the 1990's now being put in charge of bringing back regulating is another reason.
And yes the "team of hawks" does bother me. But perhaps Obama wants to keep them close to counter them.
I'm betting that Clinton stays on one term at the most.

By f u bush2December 1, 2008 - 9:48amMore likely Obama IS one of the " hawks".
The government has evolved into a system run for the benefit of big money. No way are they going to back a candidate that is going to mess with their hold on Washington.
The only " change" we will be getting is having the Corporate B Team in charge instead of the Corporate A Team. The GOP pushes corporate interests until they stretch the envelope too far. The democrats repair some of the damage, but continue to advance the interests of global capitalism, albeit at a slower pace.
At our expense, of course.
" In their cowardly experiments with 'regulation', democratic governments run headlong into the invincible sabotage of big capital."
" The reformists have a good smell for what the audience wants... But it is not serious revolutionary activity."
Leon Trotsky, 1938.

By thaelmann37December 1, 2008 - 11:46amI believe that Hillary is lying
about Obama nominating her for sec of state. This is an obvious ploy by "team clinton" to force Obama to name her dictator of the world. The woman will stop at nothing to get complete power.

I heard that there's a new LA Times/Bloomberg poll that shows that people believe just that.
Support the Troops.
End the Occupation.

And the polling crosstabs would seem to indicate that the belief is based largely upon a tanking economy...
