Abramoff's White House Connection
We know you couldn't care less about Bush McQuackers any more, but this story reported by Raw Story is just too damned rich not to comment on. Turns out disgraced, convicted, horrid lobbyist Jack Abramoff...
In an email dated February 27, 2001, Abramoff goes nasty on a colleague for not trafficking White House requests through the proper channels. Apparently, Jack had an aide in the White House who could grease the skids when meetings were required by clients with the president.
“This is not the proper way to go about this,” Abramoff writes when a
colleague suggests that he approach Ralston himself about setting up a
meeting for a client and the President, through Rove. “Susan is not
going to be able to do things like this, and we have an agreement with
her as to what we are going to ask her and when.”

We've been hearing this "they're all crooked" nonsense since Nixon. That's just an excuse to let it go on, especially when it's our guy doing something. It's amazing how conservatives still have this "Clinton did it" reflexive response to everything. Well, no. Clinton, or even Nixon I suspect, was not in Bush's league for corruption, and it wouldn't matter if they were. If you won't clean up the government now, then when?
