You stir up shit and shit and stick is all you get.
I was trying to figure out why I had only heard about that one incident with the guy in West Hollywood hanging the dummy of Sarah Palin and not about incidents involving Barrack Obama. Then in yesterday's Chicago Redeye, I realized the truth.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate crimes reported that only since the election, there have been hundreds of “incidents”. Many more than usual.
Examples:
North Carolina State University students decorated a tunnel with such slogans as “Let’s shoot that (n-word) in the head”.
And
Maine, a sign outside the Oak Hill General Store read: “Osama Obama Shotgun pool”. Customer bet $1 on a date when Obama would be killed. At the bottom of the marker, it said, “Let’s hope someone wins”.
And
Children being taught to sing “Assassinate Obama”.
And
On and on….
I lay this at the feet of Sarah Palin and John McCain and the Republican Party. This political party has devolved into the dirtiest of political parties attracting the worst scum the US has to offer.
I can only hope Obama has the sense to stay behind the Secret Service and not try to go out and “shake hands with the people”. He needs to be protected from what Sarah Palin and John McCain stirred up.

By deanrddNovember 18, 2008 - 9:06amIt's academic at this point, but it's an interesting question:
Would there have been the same outbreak of rampant racism had Colin Powell been the one elected?

By nonexistent manNovember 18, 2008 - 9:13amObama is unlikely to go after Bush's torturers
Yes Bush will probably pardon them anyway. But even if he doesn't Obama's advisors say he won't likely prosecute.
I'm waiting and watching to see what sorts of investigations he does have. But it looks like my decision for 2012 is becoming clear.

By f u bush2November 18, 2008 - 9:36amLets see.
1. Gitmo to remain open.
2. Continuation of the missle defense shield
3. No immediate pullout of Iraq.
4.No prosecution of interrogators
5.Continuation of imprisonment of terrorists without trial
Sounds like Obama has learned somethings about the real world since the election.
Doesn't sound like the same person you people elected.
Let the Obama bashing begin.

Obama never said there would be an immediate pull out from Iraq. But we will leave Iraq faster than under the republicans. There will be no war with Iraq now under Obama. And Gitmo will be closing.
You do not pay attention to the news.

And until Obama figures out what to do with the detainees, gitmo will remain open. Haven't you been keeping up with the news?

Just wait until I tell Uncle Karl that you stepped away from the Official Party Line of calling it "the Iraq war"! You'll lose your executive washroom key!

Projecting. I just don't believe as you do, and you have never posted a convincing argument as to why I should not believe as I do. Most, if not all of your arguments are easily refuted.

By momofukuNovember 18, 2008 - 9:01pmWTF are you on about now?
If you talk like that Dec. 5 AT BARNES AND NOBLE, CORNER OF EL CAMINO REAL AND THE 78, it's going to be hella boring. You'll have to entertain me better than that.
And as for the "man" who gave us Guantanamo...

Quack!

It is painfully obvious that the same results OR PROBABLY WORSE could be obtained from random McCain supporters.

By A GNovember 18, 2008 - 2:55pmThings that make you go hmmmm.
Al Qaeda endorsed John McCain. It seem they are having a difficult time gathering recruits against a world leader named Barrack Hussein Osama. Now, they are sending out a flurry of press releases saying, get this, Osama is untrustworthy, unknown, naive…
If I didn’t know better, I would swear al Qaeda and the Republicans hired the same speechwriter. They sound exactly the same.
By the way, both Fundagelicals and al Qaeda believe that evolution is a lie and we should teach “magical creation” as “reality”.
