Never A Problem At The Top

Anything that goes wrong in American business is never the fault of the people at the top--like Rick Wagoner at GM--but always the fault of the workers in their thirst and quest for good wages, benefits and pensions.
That's the new spin coming out of the right-wing these days. The trouble the American car industry is in has nothing to do with the CEOs who run these companies, but the greedy, lazy workers who want nothing but a free ride.
According to the right, American workers can eat shit, and who cares if GM goes down and 2 million people hit the unemployment lines.
Never mind the rich had their eight year orgy of cash. Now, they want to know why the American people think they should take responsibility for what’s happened?
The American people have paid for it with 28 years of bullshit trickle down economics, deregulation, and and ass kicking tax cuts for the rich that is now coming back to smash the country in the face.
Now the right-wing’s new spin: blame everything on the unions and the working class. They’re responsible for getting into bad loans, they’re responsible for the trouble with American car makers; it’s their fault.
Translation: it’s all your fault.
And when Obama doesn’t turn things around fast enough it will be his fault. Never mind the fact Obama doesn’t take over until January 20th, the right-wing ding dongs of talk radio are trying to palm off the bullshit the recession happened because a tax and spend Liberal like Obama was elected to office!
The only thing I can say to the right wing is fuck off. We’re in this shape because you, and a handful of Democrats and greedy CEOs put us here.
If the right wing took a good look in the mirror they wouldn’t see us, they’d see George W. Bush, Ronald Regan and the mess they’ve put this country in.
Not a pretty sight is it, huh?

New spin?
Those greedy bastards in the ruling class have been wringing their hands about workers' " idleness" since the first day a factory was built.
" ... capitalist society ought long ago to have gone to the dogs through sheer idleness; for those of its members who work, acquire nothing, and those who acquire anything, do not work."

By thaelmann37November 19, 2008 - 12:29pmI'm sick and tired of some asshole ranting
and raving how UAW workers are standing around all day getting $71.00 an hour.
That is the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard.
You want to make fuel efficient, reliable cars? Dump all current GM,Ford & Chrysler management!! No golden parachutes either.
Because as long as the current management is at the top of GM, Ford & Chrysler, you'll see more gas guzzling lemons on the roads! Look for the new improved, redesigned Hummer Soon!
Giving GM, Ford & Chrysler billions will only get huge bonuses for upper management.
Give your money to them at your peril.

Stripping them of their American citizenship and exiling them to the Kingdom of Palinstan sounds good to me.

Hey, how come American made cars from Ford and GM that are being sold in Europe have to get 40 mpg and the ones sold here only get 15 mpg?

By deanrddNovember 19, 2008 - 1:31pmGM owns Opel, Vauxhall in Europe & Holden in Australia,
they were also forced to build 70% ethanol powered cars in Brazil. Those cars are very popular in their respective countries. GM also makes fuel efficient cars in China.
Unless you force them to copy the management and engineer styles of Toyota & Honda, they won't change. Give them all the money on Earth and they will fail!
LIke ignorant, ranting kindergarten children, they need a good spanking!

manufacturers in the US..
What the hell happened to the "we can go anything or make anything" attitude this country had 50 years ago?
It's been replaced with "We don't know how!"
This is an insane Third World country with nukes now. And crazy Republicans willing to toss a nuke at any country they get pissed off at.

By CoyoteManNovember 19, 2008 - 1:57pmIf only this were the Good Old Days...[sarcasm follows]
When workers were happy to work for low wages and put in unpaid overtime with no health benefits. Those were the days! When people knew their place and when a man became too sick or injured to work, he went on welfare like a good Christian should!
Kinda like, well...China.

By LiberalIconoclastNovember 19, 2008 - 2:35pmHell, lib back in the bad old days a worker wouldn't
even get disability after he or she was injured. An injured worker would just get tossed to the curb and left to fend for themselves.
This is the wet dream of the republicans ( and of too many democrats).
