Palin was brought on board to be his three headed baby, his main side show. To draw eyeballs from his useless record and fading health.
Let's face it - time is not on McShame's side.
Which truly magnifies the unpatriotic choice of Palin. Country first my ass. Had he not been the spawn of illustrious progenitors he'd never been at Annapolis; thereby finding life devoid of privilege no bargain.

By DemiOctober 6, 2008 - 6:31amSOFT SPOT????
John McCain's record as a pilot is his soft spot????
Todd Beeton has a "soft spot" on his head.
John McCain's soft spot is so much his nearly criminal voting record against our troops. Denying them benefits leaves many unfit for the work force.
John McCain voted against upgrading equipment, even against buying tents and safety equipment.
McCain's grade of D from the Vets if I and A and his 20% rating from the Disabled Vets and his low rating from the Vets of Vietnam, voting against their support 15 times.
John McCain standing the way of the families of POW's finding out about their loved ones.
John McCain putting more than a 100 troops in danger, using them from human body shields as he strolled around a Baghdad market for a fucking photo op.
The military is John McCain's "soft spot" but for some strange reason, the Democrats won't stand up against McCain FOR our troops. I don't get it.

Vets are extremely reluctant to verbalize to outsiders - for good reason. They know their opinion is the opinion of one citizen, but others tend to think it holds weight above and beyond reality.
Active duty officers are loath to have McCain in the White House. The very last thing they want (and need) at this particular moment in time is some latterday Napoleon trying to run the military; as for his VP choice: It is thought beneath contempt.

By RobespierreOctober 6, 2008 - 7:33amObama is wrong, McCain is slime
I'm a Veteran of the 3rd Battalion, 16th Field Artillery, 8th Infantry Division and I can tell you that I am most definitely NOT on the side of McCain.
Some Republican Vets are for McCain, but the ones that find out about his voting record turn on him immediately. He turned on them.
But like I said, the Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan give McCain a grade of D, the Disabled Vets give McCain a 20% rating. The Veterans of Vietnam have heavily criticized McCain for voting against them 15 straight times.
For some reason, America just doesn't care about Veterans. It's why 200,000 at least live on the streets.
Obama has publicly said that he won't make the troops an issue because he doesn't want to politicize them. My feeling is that he isn't defending them. He thinks he is doing them a favor, but he's not. He is playing right into the hands of John McCain.

The cnn report is very misleading. It is based on poll's. Read the article. Also, it does not actually define homelessness, but makes it seem that the reasons are economic, not substance abuse related. Point in fact, the VA does a great job helping those who want to help themselves. Are you familiar with the Per Diem program, offered to Vets, nation wide? You really should do your research and stop with the propaganda. Especially when it comes to veterans. We are not some political football, to be used to promote your political agenda.

Jan. 27: This Marine's death came after he served in Iraq
When Jonathan Schulze came home from Iraq, he tried to live a normal life. But the war kept that from happening.

Police seek suspect in Brooklyn Center assault, robbery
At first, Jonathan Schulze tried to live with the nightmares and the grief he brought home from Iraq. He was a tough kid from central Minnesota, and more than that, a U.S. Marine to the core.
Yet his moods when he returned home told another story. He sobbed on his parents' couch as he told them how fellow Marines had died, and how he, a machine gunner, had killed the enemy. In his sleep, he screamed the names of dead comrades. He had visited a psychiatrist at the VA hospital in Minneapolis.
Two weeks ago, Schulze went to the VA hospital in St. Cloud. He told a staff member he was thinking of killing himself, and asked to be admitted to the mental health unit, said his father and stepmother, who accompanied him. They said he was told he couldn't be admitted that day. The next day, as he spoke to a counselor in St. Cloud by phone, he was told he was No. 26 on the waiting list, his parents said.
Four days later, Schulze, 25, committed suicide in his New Prague home.
Citing privacy laws, Veterans Affairs officials wouldn't comment specifically on the case, nor would they confirm or deny the Schulze family's account. However, Dr. Sherrie Herendeen, line director for mental health services at the St. Cloud hospital, said Thursday that under VA policy, a veteran talking about suicide would immediately be escorted into the hospital's locked mental health unit for treatment.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that he's a clueless fraud who is completely ignorant of some rather basic realities. I have to say, some of hatey's other role playing provided a bit of comic relief. I mean, the bit about chatting with Maya Angelou about MLK over a dinner he prepared for her was priceless in its comedic value. But, this bit about playing the role of a veteran and using his imaginary uniform to attack those who actually wear/have worn it by blaming their difficulties on them is entirely deplorable.
:whatadouchebag:
I've been away for a bit. I actually spent some time on the trail out in Lansing, MI... canvassing the city from Monday morning leading into Barack's visit to East Lansing on Thursday. And, while at the event, I got word from some reps that they were in need of volunteers for the Springsteen show in Philly over the weekend on Saturday. So, I jumped back in the car to head back around this way to help out. It's been quite the week (we chased McCain from Michigan as he plummets there and nationally! teeehee), and it's left me little time for stopping by.
Anything new?
I see hatey's still at his usual sock puppet games...

The VA is ready, able and willing to help them with these problems, but can't force them into treatment. That's the facts. Dispute them. By the way, you always seem to list only two veterans organization, but you never tell us how many veterans they actually represent. Why? the millions living in poverty in america (and the hundreds of millions globally) is a republican holocaust. the republican war for profit industry is genocide of the poor. the absolute corruption of the republican party by global (read foreign) corporations is a constant, persistent act of treason.
you guys will have to do better to counter your party's list of crimes.

By commiecakesOctober 6, 2008 - 1:46pmThe crap, (and that's what it is, crap), coming from the
McCain smear factory is just another glaring example of why this man shouldn't be let within 100 miles of the White House. We've spent 8 years being lied to by Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Feith, Addington, Gonzales, Miers, Goodling, Sampson and more to go through the same thing again. If McCain and his campaign really thought they had ideas that could help this country, then why can't they articulate them? Why is it that the only thing that seems to spew from their mouths is venomous lies? Perhaps because they know that they have nothing to offer the country except more of the same, the same policies that have seen our national debt more than double under repub "leadership", policies that have caused the deaths of over 4000 American troops, and the injuries of over 30,000 more; policies that have destroyed Wall Street and led to the virtual nationalization of companies like AIG; policies that have seen the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression; policies that have made America the most reviled nation on the world stage. I agree with Kucinich when he said "They want four more years? In most jurisdictions they'd get 8 to 20".

In the 1960s the G0P made the destruction of public schools a priority along with spreading the false idea that the vote really didn't matter. It took a score of years for the poor and deprived to start filtering into the society. You are no doubt a product of that depravity.

No wonder the g0p troll-monkeys are getting more and more shrill. They're watching their boat sink, and there aren't any lifeboats aboard that aren't full of holes too.
