Today on Doing Time- Thursday, August 28th
In case, you didn’t hear, Illinois Senator Barack Obama has been officially nominated as the Democratic presidential candidate on Wednesday, by acclamation!
After much blustering and worrying and pondering, Bill Clinton came through and delivered last night! Not only did he back Obama but emphatically echoed that he is ready to lead. It was a fantastic speech and let’s hope it did even more to seal the cracks in the party.
And Joe Biden shined as the working class guy who will be on the attack this fall! After saying that he and McCain were long time friends, he leaned into the presumptive GOP nominee, calling him out on everything from the war to the economy. Ron will give you his take.
Obama made a surprise appearance last night after Biden’s speech, and is no doubt gearing up to give the speech of his life tonight! Ron will take your calls on what YOU think he needs to focus on.
Word around town is that Rove has called Lieberman and urged him to take his name off McCain’s VP short list, lets see if it works. We’ll also check in with GOP surrogates and how they are trying to spin all things convention.
And while the focus is on
All this, your calls and more check ins from our team on the ground at the Dem Convention. Stay tuned!

a " kuby fore taste" - right on the money
ron, your predictions for Bill yesterday were prophetic.
You must have been wearing the ' mighty karnak' headgear.
" he should remind people he was only 46 when he was president.. younger than Obama"
I have new found respect for both Hillary and Bill after their outstanding efforts last night.
Barack's nomination demonstrates how truly great this country is.
Although we are not perfect, being founded on the highest ideals of human rights, our nation has struggled and strived to overcome the evils of slavery and discrimination.
Our journey continues, but we have hit a milestone today.
Obama's acceptance speech tonight coming on the anniversary of MLK's "I have have a dream speech " really brings this point home..
It would be wonderful to see highlights of the MLK speech combined with a series of photos of Barack from a young boy to grown man to nominee of the Democratic Party for President.
