Palin as Veep

I am in complete accord with Sen. McCain's choice of his running mate. Gov. Palin has proven herself to be in line with all that is best about the Republican party. I think the debates between the candidates should be very interesting and I wish I had been a fly on the wall when Sen. Biden heard the news, and how he must have laughed. We should give Sen. McCain another pass on this decision - after all, he was a prisoner of war for 5 years. Give the guy a break. Maybe he's trying to get even with his party. Sincerely, Grace DeLorenzo-Vyborny (a.k.a. Lady in Prague).

I really think

the repubs wanted Joe Biden to have to debate a woman. They would love to paint him as a typical male chauvinist to garner more of the female vote. Drop dead gorgeous? I personally have no problem with comments he makes such as these, but I am a male and view this as how Biden comes acrossed unapologetic and down to earth.

Palin?

I agree - I was shocked by this nomination. I would have put money on Romney. While she certainly has marginal experience, I'm wanting to know more about her. What issues is she most passionate about? What would she most want to change about America? How does she plan to fight for the public good? There are a lot of questions and not enough answers right now - Air America, keep up the good work. Get out there and find some info for us!

I AM CONFUSED! HELP!

Sarah Palin? I understand that it's a great day for women and...she's a mom to 5 and...she's a governor and...she's just like you and me but...I think that this is a very scary move all around.

Lionel...help!

Here's how I'd put it:

When it comes to unpreparedness, McCain's pick makes Obama Palin comparison.

The missed historical first*: First MILF on a major party ticket. (She's just a couple of weeks younger than me, so it's not weird Cougar/Cradle-Robber thing.) I'd hit that until I heard her anti-choice, global-warming-denying, creationist views...and even then, I might do it a couple of more times with earplugs in.

Derm, please give up the Michael Palin reference. If you are of the cognoscenti who are Monty Python fans, you're probably expert enough in the Constitution to realize that he is not eligible to be vice-president.

I love that the media is saying that McCain tapped Sarah Palin. I'm sure that Cindy might be worried which connotation they mean.

*I'm listening to the podcast as I'm writing this, so I see you are catching the MILF thing.

RE: Michael Palin

MacFan...c'mon, brother, gimme a little more credit than that. It's a joke, half the point being that its a horrible one.

And besides, Obama's not a citizen anyways, and he might become PRESIDENT! Truth is stranger than fiction.

Best,

Derm

P.S. That was another joke.

AN HONOR I'LL REMEMBER FOR AS LONG AS I CAN!

If she were a blond, this would be her theme song:

So I am watching the news and it's reported that when she was asked about the war in Iraq, she said, "I don't know that much about it".

Now, this woman has a son who is being deployed to Iraq before the end of the year. She is the Republican nominee for Vice President, and talking about the War in Iraq, the place where her son is going, she says, "I don't know that much about it".

Can this be happening?

It has been said the first important decision by the future "Commander-in-chief" is his decision for Vice President. John McCain met this woman only one time before naming her the nominee for Vice President.

A commentator on Fox news said she has plenty of foreign policy experience because Alaska is close to Russia.

Can I point out that John McCain graduated 5th from the bottom from the Naval Academy. Somehow, his choice for Vice President simply doesn't surprise me.
