Afghanistan is back on the front pages. And that is good for Obama because he's the one who put it there. He is leading the discussion. But it's also bad news in terms of what is actually happening on the ground-- violence, and lots of it.

Getting out of Afganistan
Last night I heard Malalai Joya, The bravest woman in Afghanistan. It was sponsored by the International Museum of Women.
A few of her comments:
They want our troops out. They don't like being occupied.
Our government is supporting the puppet government and drug lords.
Citizens are being ignored. Innocent civilians are being killed everyday.
Children are killed and young girls are raped.
The President has no control outside of Karble.
The most important things they need are security, education and a
democratic government not a puppet.
More important than food and water are leaders willing to take risk.
A quote from Malalai”, The silence of good people is worst than the words of bad people.”
I can only guess our government is helping the bad guys in Iraq too. It’s our money down the toilet. Will it stop in January 09?
