Run DMC is intense
The last time I heard some one like that, it was me at the bottom of hell.
I sure hope he has realized he has MASSIVE anxiety and depression.
It is not right for someone to have to just cope with the crushing grinding pain of anxiety without medicine.
It is just pure cruelty to deny yourself anti-depresants and anti-anxiety medicine when you are in hell.
For that guy to admit that stuff about Mcglaghlin, he is more of a man than any of you so called best of the best.

If Mr. Ridenhour reads this one I would like to ask him if it's possible sometime in the future that the Public Enemy would like and will find time to record an album containing collabo's with the artists from the countries affected by the US military actions - Iraq, Serbia,... - so the voices of everyday people from those countries might got heard? I believe that Public Enemy is the only "institution" in the world which can do that in an effective way.

I've got a guest suggestion: Aaron McGruder. I haven't heard him on *any* AAR show as of yet and his new "Boondocks" show based on his strip is set to debut tonight (11/06/05) on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. I've heard him on other shows before and he would be a great guest for On the Real.

it'd be nice if you could do a survey of 60s radicals--people who knew Huey Newton, Bobby Seal, others big during that era. Another idea, call black hosts at stations in other cities, chicago, LA, Houston, East St. Louis. It's kind of insular to just talk to new yorkers and things important to new york--you're on all across the nation. Maybe you could get the affiliates to pull in local organizers to talk about things going on in those towns, things that don't make the news, little successes, outrages.

I'm listening, guys! Yes, I’m a female and, yes, I’m a big fan of On the Real (and Kyle’s show). I sent you an email a while back through the AAR website. I'll try to find it and send it again through the AAR webpage tonight when I get home from work. I listen to you *every* Monday morning. I try to highlight your show every week on Air America Place and give people a preview of who you are gonna talk to. I think the weekend programming on AAR is filled with hidden gems. I was a *big* fan of Unfiltered and I'm a big fan of On the Real as well. Keep up the good work.

By Limerick LiberalDecember 11, 2005 - 11:57pmGov Arnold fence on border Democrats no build black housing us
Here is the real reason why blacks should vote repub. the dems treat blacks like they are children. they pass program after program intended to help blacks which actually end up hurting them. "In fact, the most dramatic economic advancements of blacks, in both incomes and occupations, occurred in the years immediately before the civil rights legislation of the 1960s." Source Repubs also support educational vouchers. Sowell says, "No one has a greater stake in various school-choice plans, including vouchers, than blacks have, even though school choice is not specifically racial." He goes on, "Minimum wage laws have long had an adverse effect on the employment of blacks, especially young blacks, who are more likely to be looking for entry-level jobs. These are the kinds of jobs most often reduced or eliminated when the minimum wage set by the government exceeds what those jobs are worth to an employer." Next Sowell mentions housing law. "Few policies have had more devastating local impacts on blacks than severe restrictions on the building of housing under "open space" laws, which lead to skyrocketing prices for homes and apartment rents that take up half the incomes of low-income households in many California communities. Almost invariably, such communities are controlled by liberal Democrats -- and blacks have been forced out by high housing costs. The black population of San Francisco, for example, declined by 18,000 between the 1990 census and the 2000 census, even though the city's total population rose by more than 50,000 people." I can't believe more blacks don't get upset about it. the libs are so paternalistic to blacks. it is so offensive and degrading. Can't see it being an easy process so long as they are bankrupting the country. (For a more authoritive opinion - see Whitehead interview on NOW, former Reagan deputy secretary of state, etc - a very rich Republican saying what the left has been saying). ttp://www.pbs.org/now/politics/deficit05.html http://www.pbs.org/now/podcast.html Excerpt: Corporate Tax Rates and Yours In early April 2004, the General Accounting Office (GAO) reported that over 60 percent of all American corporations paid no federal taxes at all from 1996 through 2000. In addition, the GAO found that corporate tax payments as a percent of federal revenue have reached the lowest level since 1983 and now stand second only to rates paid in 1934.

By Uncle Jimbo Mad CityDecember 19, 2005 - 2:38pmStanley Williams
There are a number of reasons why i believe Williams should have been granted clemency.
1. First, let me state - that i do not believe in the death penalty. I do not feel that governments and individuals should be in the business of taking life, in fact, they should be in the business of improving life and maintaining life. Time and time again it has been shown that "Violence only begets more violence" and this certainly perpetuates that. It has also been shown that the death penalty does not help prevent further crime and does not send a message. For those that would also care to know - it is also not cheaper to execute individuals than to simply keep them in jail for life (although i don't know if we should put a price on lives).
2. There have been a large number of instances where individuals sentenced to death were later found INNOCENT of the crimes. Many of these people were found innocent after they had already been executed - what do you say to the family and loved ones of that individual - oops. I think if 1 person is wrongfully executed, that is 1 too many. People are human and our justice system has inherent faults (aside from the fact that it is inherently racist - that is another discussion) - the only way to 100% prevent an innocent person from being executed is to have a flat out policy of NO DEATH PENATLY. The US is the only Western country that still has it.
3. Specific to this case - As i stated at the start, Williams while in prison has helped save countless lives. If indeed he is guilty of these crimes (again, he maintains his innocence - not the point) i certainly believe he does NOT deserve to be free. He cost many people, agony and pain, but what is the point of taking his life. It seems senseless to me. He is now saving lives and helping individuals - from prison. He has rehabilitated himself. With the execution of Williams, the Governor is basically sending a terrible message out to people. He is basically saying it doesn't matter if you rehabilitate, prison and incarceration is no longer about rehabilitation but strictly about punishment. The governor missed an opportunity to send out a positive message to not only California, but to the country - since this was such a high profile case. A message of hope.
4.Hypocrisy - Governments (run by individuals) throughout history have been responsible for the deaths of thousands . . . in recent American history, Vietnam comes to mind and even today, the Iraq war. In both wars thousands of innocent lives have been killed in what many consider to be illegal wars. Many feel that Henry Kissinger and even George Bush should be convicted of war crimes. How do we justify those deaths? are those innocent lives worth less. Williams has been executed for the murder of 4 individuals. What about the thousands of innocent lives that have been killed in wars decided on by a few? Who is responsible for their lives? Will those responsible ever see the inside of a prison? There will be some that say they are not the same thing, why?

By madgardenerFebruary 13, 2006 - 1:34amWow,finally saw the report again.
I listend to AirAmerica most the day yesterday but I watch TV news yesterday too, this is the first Ive heard of it.I cant even believe they would admit it was him, what did they catch it on live TV or something and they couldnt withhold those photos? What Cheneys sitting there going,"Eh,Eh,darn, should have brought Jack Abramoff or Delay,or Libby, could have tied up a loose end,oh well,he's with me,must be guilty of something. If that was Karma, its getting a little too close to me,have to talk to security, and the NSA.Got to wiretap incoming calls more,I think Karma is working with terrorism.Never know when Karma is going to strike next.War on Karma. It'll sell, well tell people Micheal Moore is supporting Karma.Hehehe...Hmmm.Probably shouldnt have ,used those, homeless people for, skeet.". Secret agents would be like,"Get him out of here!Get him out of here! Its all right Mr Cheney we'll connect it to 9/11 somehow no one will know!Move! Move! Move!Grab the cameras.Destroy the film!Destroy the gun!Burn all documents prooving this trip happened.Anyone who says the Vice President did it is un-American,and uh,supporting terrorism.Burn the field were in!No DNA! No DNA!". Another agent,"But Sir,we are on a publicity trip,um,there are uh,couple hundred people here, and they all have,uh mobile camera phones.I can already here pencils scribling.".
And on a more serious note,I have certain views on guns. Those oppinions I admit were partially handed down to me but I have incorperated those views about guns into my own perspective on the subject and personally although masochistic barbarism or savage beast like predator,or aliens that fucking eat people or carnivorous dinosaurs and some occational normal man eating creatures do present a reason to responsibly use guns....
One,a gun is like scissors, you dont run with scissors,AND always point them away from you and OTHERS at all times, but you should almost alway point them down at the ground where no one is,unless its a gun and its a rock or metal floor where richochet is involved, but in that case you should probably not have the gun loaded unless the safty is GOD DAMN DEFFINATLY ON,what did the flint snap and fire on Cheneys mucket?.Dont wave them around. If you are in a contorted position, never reach to use them, never use them on shaky footing unless you have to like you are in a war(I guess)dont use scissors that are razor sharp or such as in this case guns that can shoot through houses discharge too many rounds too fast or have explosive ammunition ending up in morans hands like Cheney's.Remember,Cheney was ripping, all neocons and supporters were ripping Kerry for his hunting trip, then look at Cheneys gun safty.Sorry, you have to be kind of a moran,or just inconsiderate and not being careful,to shoot someone on accident.Especially if you are a gunnut Vice President with big fucking mouth. So no,you dont walk on pot holes slick muddy slippery earth with your gun loaded with people around, and you dont shoot till its CLEAR!

By madgardenerFebruary 13, 2006 - 2:18amAids virus Created and Patented???
I was listening to a speech given by Dick Gregory this month at FAMU and he brought this up. He gave the name and patent number of this guy who patented the invention of the HIV virus in 1987. So I wrote the number down and checked the the US patent website and plugged it in. Sure enough there it is.
Now I'm not health or medical expert, but this does look like what Dick Gregory insisted it was. I thought this would make for good conversation during your show. Maybe Supernova or someone else can comment on it.
The link to the Patent is:
http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL...
If that doesn't work go to the US Patent's web address:
www.uspto.gov
The Patent number is 4647773
Here is the link to the Dick Gregory Speech. He mentions it toward the end. It's a 2hr speech, but ofcourse Dick Gregory makes it interesting throughout.

By rdplumJune 18, 2006 - 11:47pmChicken Pox
Actually, I understand the concept of these "chicken pox parties"
If the kids never get it in childhoood, then get it as an adult, it is a much more severe disease, even deadly.
A friend of mine got it as an adult and it became a very expensive (no health insurance), in addition to all the work she missed.
When I had it, when I was about five or six, our neighbor sent her daughter, who was several years older, over to our house to read to me. As far as I knew she never contracted the disease.
Also, you actually CAN get it more than once if your first case is very mild.
